About Pushkar Marathe:
Born in Nagpur, India, chef Pushkar Marathe’s culinary roots originate in the rich tapestry of flavors of his homeland.
In addition to cooking at restaurants led by his mentor Dean Max, he has held cooking positions at restaurants in the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands, across the U.S., and the Middle East. In 2017, in collaboration with Niven Patel, chef Marathe pushed the boundaries of Indian cuisine with Ghee Indian Restaurant. In 2020, chef Marathe and partner Andy Dugard opened Stage Kitchen & Bar in Palm Beach Gardens.
Marathe and Dugard opened Ela Curry Kitchen in 2022. Their greatly anticipated second concept showcases refined and culturally focused cuisine from across India in a dynamic selection of street food and fresh, daring thali-style dishes. A passion project for Marathe, Ela Curry Kitchen draws on his experiences growing up in India and inspirations from family and friends, most significantly the traditional cooking of his mother, whose influence resonates throughout Ela’s menu.
In 2023, chef Marathe was named a "Best Chef: South" semifinalist.
Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
James Beard Foundation events permit guests age 21 years and older to attend events where alcoholic beverages are served.
