With her latest cookbook Portico, author Leah Koenig celebrates Roman Jewish cooking, la cucina Ebraica Romana. Existing for more than 2,000 uninterrupted years, Rome’s Jewish community has been shaped by hardship and determination to become a resilient, deeply knit entity, with a cuisine steeped in history and tradition. Koenig will demonstrate a Passover-friendly recipe that can easily be recreated at home for the upcoming holiday and speak to the rich culinary history of the Roman Jews. The event will culminate in a tasting of several dishes from the book paired with wine and a book signing.
