About Chris Mauricio:
Chris Mauricio grew up in San Diego where they developed a passion for food at a young age in their Lola's kitchen, who passed down family recipes and Filipino culinary techniques through oral tradition, not written instruction. At 17-years-old, Mauricio enrolled in culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Oregon where they fed their passion for cooking and honed their kitchen skills. Despite dropping out of culinary school, food always remained a thread throughout Mauricio’s life which has served them well at Harana Market, where they preserve the flavors of their childhood and practice rituals of eating together, now with their chosen family.

About Eva Tringali:
General manager and co-owner of Harana Market, Tringali grew up in the Hudson Valley surrounded by New York’s pastoral beauty and rolling hills that would one day call her back home. A strategic planner and creative thinker, she pursued a degree in business and hospitality management at SUNY New Paltz. Tringali propels Harana Market forward while bringing people together to eat, dance, raise money for a cause, and strengthen their bonds of community.

About Harana Market:
Founded in 2020, Harana Market brings homestyle Filipino cuisine and Asian pantry staples to the heart of the Hudson Valley. Located in idyllic Accord, New York at the foothills of Catskill Mountains, Harana Market specializes in lutong bahay (homestyle) Filipino cooking and Asian pantry essentials.
Harana Market offers a vital ‘third space’ for local Queer, Trans, AAPI and BIPOC communities to connect. Early on, Mauricio and Tringali started a food equity program to ensure that as long as their doors are open, everyone can eat, no questions asked, regardless of their ability to pay.  These community-supported programs include Sálu-salo, a pay-it-forward gift wall that invites visitors to give or take prepaid meal vouchers and their ‘Chosen Family’ meal, where every Sunday, LGBTQIA+ people eat free.
