A Conversation and Bites with The Author of Maman and Me, and Chef of Sofreh, and Television Personality
25 11th Ave, New York, NY 10011, USA
Join us for an intimate and inspiring conversation with Roya Shariat, author of Maman and Me: Recipes from Our Iranian American Family, and Nasim Alikahani, the James Beard Award nominated chef of Sofreh and author of the Sofreh cookbook.
In this special event moderated by magazine editor and television personality Nilou Motamed, Roya and Nasim will share personal reflections on how their families influenced their culinary journeys, how women have been the backbone of preserving and transforming Iranian food culture, and the ways in which their own experiences—both in Iran and in the diaspora—have shaped their understanding of food, memory, and identity.
This conversation will offer a unique window into the rich, complex tapestry of Iranian food and the women who sustain and elevate it. Bites from the books will be served and copies of Maman and Me and Sofreh will be available for purchase and signing.
General Admission: $45
