Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of New York's bagel culture with a hands-on artisan bagel-making class to commemorate National Bagel and Lox Day. Led by award-winning baker Reva Castillenti, you’ll learn how to craft the iconic New York bagel by hand-shaping the dough and mastering the essential techniques of boiling and baking. Enjoy hot-out-of-the-oven bagels complemented by a selection of classic spreads, including smoked fish, while sipping on mimosas and coffee. Learn about the storied history of the New York bagel with "Bagel Ambassador" Sam Silverman, who traces its humble beginnings to its rise as an iconic staple. Attendees will take home bagels, techniques, and a recipe to keep the bagel journey rolling at home.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund.
