November 12, 1:00 P.M. Il Grande Brunch with Danielle Sepsy Presented by Lavazza

November 12, 2023 01:00 PM

Featuring The Big Brunch Finalist and “Scone Queen” Danielle Sepsy

25 11th Ave, New York, NY 10011, USA

Italian-American Danielle Sepsy, Thrillist’s fan-favorite cheftestant on HBO Max’s The Big Brunch, has always had a penchant for baking breakfast classics. Her buttery biscuits and satisfying scones led her to launch her baking business, The Hungry Gnome, which powers most of the  baked goods at coffeehouses from Joe Coffee to Blue Bottle. Perhaps that is why she’s been dubbed the “Scone Queen. For this event, Danielle will channel her heritage and share her version of brunch, Italian style. Think reimagined breakfast version of cacio e pepe, a decadent panettone French toast, and her irresistible cinnamon buns.

And what is an Italian brunch without coffee? Each course will feature Lavazza creations from coffeetails to espresso drinks.

About Danielle Sepsy

Danielle Sepsy is the founder and chef behind The Hungry Gnome, the popular and innovative wholesale and online bakery based in New York City. Danielle’s love of cooking began at the young age of 13 when she started a home business selling her scones to friends, neighbors, and local cafes. Since then, Danielle has been crowned the “Scone Queen” by devoted fans who rave about “the BEST scones in the universe.” You can now find The Hungry Gnome baked goods—scones and much more—at hundreds of New York’s most popular coffee shops, restaurants, and markets, including Joe Coffee and Birch Coffee, Bluestone Lane, and Ground Central just to name a few.

A graduate of Penn State University’s School of Hospitality Management and The International Culinary Center’s Professional Culinary Arts program, Danielle managed restaurants in some of New York City’s most elite hotels, including The Peninsula Hotel, The Plaza Hotel, and the iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and was the general manager behind a high-end amenity and event center at the prestigious Park Avenue Tower. Danielle was a finalist on HBO Max’s The Big Brunch, a show created and hosted by Emmy Award winner Dan Levy. She has also appeared in many cooking segments on nationally syndicated television programs including Anderson Cooper Live, Tamron Hall, Good Morning America, Cheddar News, and Inside Edition. She has also performed live and on-demand cooking demonstrations on Food Network Kitchen, Pix11 News, and Good Day New York. Her website, ChefDanielleSepsy.com, is a showcase of her culinary talents and features many of her instructional videos and recipes.

About Lavazza:

The history of Lavazza is that of a business that, for over 125 years, has pursued a company vision based on a passion for work, for the product, and the land on which it operates. These values have been ingrained in Lavazza’s DNA since its foundation in 1895 and upheld by four generations of entrepreneurs since then. Each family member who has worked in the company has helped it to grow while staying true to the qualities of passion and innovation inherited from Luigi Lavazza, transforming it into the company it is today. In the words of Emilio Lavazza, “It’s about doing business with your heart.” It is this spirit that has allowed us to expand the company over the years: our way of doing business is an example of sustainability in the fullest sense of the word. It is a quality built up and shared with all the people we have met, starting with our employees and the places in which we work. These are the qualities that, every day, underpin the value of the company, allowing us to be recognized worldwide, not just for the production of premium coffee, but also for our approach to work and our social commitment.
